Can my alarm work with an Internet Phone?

VoIP ( Voice over Internet Phone) is a service the Cable TV companies are offering, THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE with your alarm system, according, to the Cable companies “it may work.” In the event of a real emergency “may work” is not good enough! If you are going to use VoIP you must maintain at least one regular telephone line through the Phone Company. VoIP may need additional battery backup to maintain communications in the event of a power outage, and we are not able to reliably communicate with your alarm panel to make changes from our office if you are using VoIP.
